The only lines in the configuration that mention @active are already 
mentioned:

set -g @active colour27'
set -g status-style 
"#{?#{==:#{@statusline},off},bg=#{@inactive},bg=#{@active}},fg=#{@black}"
set -g window-status-style 
"#{?#{==:#{@statusline},off},bg=#{@inactive},bg=#{@active}#,#{?window_zoomed_flag,bg=#{@zoomed},}},fg=#{@black}"
set -g window-status-current-style 
"fg=#{@white},bg=#{@active},#{?window_zoomed_flag,bg=#{@zoomed},}"

I am not the only person who sees this problem and the other guy uses a 
completely different configuration.
