No, because in xterm the scroll wheel doesn't work in the first place. Does it work for you? For instance for scrolling in man pages? Actually I could not get the scrolling to work in any other terminal besides gnome-terminal. So maybe gnome-terminal is doing something special here... I tried setting "tput smcup" but it did not change the behavior in any way. Any other ideas what I could test? Do you have gnome-terminal to test with?
