Seems like a tmux server started with 'tmux start-server' immediately exits. (I
thought this worked in 1.7 but can't easily check this.)

% mv .tmux.conf .tmux.conf.aside
% tmux -v start-server
% tmux ls
failed to connect to server
Status: 1
% cat tmux-server-22741.log
server started, pid 22741
socket path
/private/var/folders/m8/gnz6f3cj1cl_08p8_k0f50nrj1yqws/T/tmux-572481433/default
new client 7
got 6 from client 7
got 0 from client 7
cmdq 0x7fc42140f330: start-server (client 7)
writing 3 to client 7
lost client 7
