What type of editor are you using?  If you're running vi or vim you
could just set a mark and yank the text from the mark.  It's much
faster than moving your hand off the keyboard and double clicking a
mouse, then moving your hand back to the keyboard.  This could also be
achieved using GNU less or GNU more.

Imagine the receptionist walking by and seeing you running vim + tmux!
