Ok. Got it. I think there is a problem with configure.in in the 1.6.0
stable distribution.
If I run autoconf, then configure (without any modification of
configure.in from my side), configure gives that sed error I mentioned.
This does not happen with 1.6.0.3.
Maybe this helps.
