the linux way is

all gnu tools ported to solaris and then recompile from solaris
with linux tools.

no lxrun necessary.
all gnu tools proven to be a success and stable can run on the solaris
kernel.

This is the first I do after downloading

  cp /export/home/morten/Desktop/cxxtools-1.4.6.tar.gz /tmp/

Then I investigate the integrity of my download.

bash-3.00$
bash-3.00$ digest -v -a md5 /tmp/cxxtools-1.4.6
cxxtools-1.4.6/ cxxtools-1.4.6.tar cxxtools-1.4.6.tar.gz
bash-3.00$ digest -v -a md5 /tmp/cxxtools-1.4.6.tar.gz
md5 (/tmp/cxxtools-1.4.6.tar.gz) = 5b9a8e76bcb8caaefbc1b3ebdd6e39c3
bash-3.00$ ls -l cxxtools-1.4.6.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 morten other 443425 Dec 30 13:39 cxxtools-1.4.6.tar.gz
bash-3.00$ cksum cxxtools-1.4.6.tar.gz
1190243727 443425 cxxtools-1.4.6.tar.gz

is this so far correct?

Please

Morten
