Hi, this may be a new item for the FAQ.
I just think about writing a howto how to set up a linux system from scatch including tntnet and tntdb from git. It is really simple to add /usr/local/lib to ld.so.conf but may several days to find out, that it is necessary. Also people frequently forget to run ldconfig after installing tntnet. Another thing, which is helpful is to get the package names, which must me installed before compilation of cxxtools, tntnet and tntdb. This step depends on the distribution and also the howto should handle at least debian and fedora. Debian helps also when setting up derived distros like ubuntu. Fedora is what I use and handles the red hat based world.
