I have few more questions, since you have not answered I have in old box,old Vpopmail and qmail is not patched I have new box, which coming up nedd to be lated VPOPMAIL + qmail+ toaster0.5 patch i need to do any modifications some of my quick question to your proceedures > 1. Install the software with the same UIDs on the new box. That will save lots of headaches. yes, i will make same UID and GROUPS > 2. Lower TTLS if IPs are changing. Address will be the same, biut new fetures incorporating in new server > 3. rsync the data. never done before, any example, or what are files i should do rsync > 4. convert accounts to mysql on new box means take the back up of mysql and restore in to new box you mean. > 5. shut off qmail on old box once its ready i will do this. > 6. rsync data again need example > 7. update dns (if changing IPs) IP not changing so i no need to do anything. > 8. forward all smtp traffic to new box via smtproutes (again only if IPs > are changing) > > If the 2 machines are close by (same data center) you should be able to do > this with under 5 minutes of downtime.
