I spent some time researching this a little bit further and found this patch:

Any ideas on how that would affect a toaster installation?
I read over the patch, and it looks good to me. I did verify that it will apply on top of the toaster 0.5-1 patch, with offset warnings. So it should work. I have not tested it, though.
