You can login via telnet means the servers are up and running. Good. Your mail clients get this far as well btw, but when they try to authenticate they get rejected. > I have followed the instructions very carefully and first time I installed > it I used RedHat 8 but I also tried a fresh installed RedHat 9. Did you make any changes at all or put in any extra patches? Make sure to use the right chkuser-tmda patch. > > The user I have been trying with was created via > http://hostname-of-mail-server/cgi-bin/qmailadmin Have you tried creating the users by hand? /home/vpopmail/bin/vadddomain test.loc test /home/vpopmail/bin/vadduser [EMAIL PROTECTED] test Now you have [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] both with password test. Test with those accounts and post the relevant sections of your log files (on debian, the interesting file is /var/log/mail.log - don't know what it is on RedHat; just grep your logs for vpopmail to see where that goes) Regards Andre Marenke
