Am I to understand that the toaster doesn't support qmail-scanner anymore?
We're running a slightly older version of the toaster here, and I've noticed that I've got something leaking memory. This leak is causing ClamAV to generate calloc errors. At first I thought it was SpamAssassin, but I'm still getting the errors. If simscan is a better tool than qmail-scanner, if it's going to provide us with similar (or better) functionality than qmail-scanner without the leaking, I'll switch to it today.

First off, qmail-scanner was never included in the toaster instructions. And it's still as "supported" as it ever was. Just skip the ripmime/simscan installation under the options section, and follow the qmail-scanner install instructions over at http://qmail-scanner.sf.net.
That being said, simscan offers 2 major improvements over qmail-scanner.
1. It can reject viruses or even spam at the smtp level, rather than quarantining them.
2. It can work on a per-domain basis, allowing for greater flexibility.
This is why I have started including installation instructions in the "Options" part of the 0.7x toaster version.

Bill
