That's what I was afraid of. I really would still prefer to use
Virtualmin for virtual host management (since it configures everything
for a virtual domain - mail, apache, SSL certs, bandwidth limiting,
webalizer, etc, not just emails). So if I don't use vpopmail at all,
I'm assuming I can't also use qmailadmin - but will the rest of the
toaster work correctly? This is where I start to get lost. I'll have
to try creating a domain with an email address with Virtualmin, and
see if/how I can access them via IMAP, POP, and SquirrelMail.

Well, maybe virtualadmin could be hacked to work with vpopmail. Instead of touching qmail manually, it could just call vadddomain. I doubt you're the first person to want that.

But you are correct - if you don't use vpopmail, you can't use qmailadmin. The rest of the toaster should work, assuming you keep the vpopmail user on the system (since many services run as that user). Spamd might have issues running as vpopmail, though.
