Hi list,
I just recently installed the toaster and noted that there is no more spamcontrol patch available
What spamcontrol? Do you mean tarpit?
Yes, i mean tarpit, sorry for the mistake.
, so im dealing with spamthrottle right now.
what im looking for is a way to limit smtp usage in an ip address basis, not for ip blocks. would i need to fill spamt with lots of a.b.c.d/32:randomuser:..... lines in order to do it ? is it possible ? is it the correct way?
I highly recommend you read the spam-throttle man page:
http://spamthrottle.qmail.ca/man/qmail-spamthrottle.5.html
And also the spamt man page:
http://spamthrottle.qmail.ca/man/qmail-spamt.5.html
Configuration is a bit complex. But there are typical examples in these man pages that fit different scenarios. You might want to read them several times, that's what I had to do to get comfortable with it.
I did read them but still cann't figure out, i will re-read the man pages as i think i didn't get a fully understanding of the sintax.
Regards,
Bill
