Yup, that's your problem..  Not sure what flavor of linux you're running,
but..  You can try this ..

sh /etc/init.d/sendmail stop

If that doesn't work, try :

kill 3250

That should stop sendmail from running.  If you can give more detail as to
what OS you're running, I can help further..
