Thank you all who responded and came forward with your willingness to help this couple.
Here is a detailed report (might not be full. appudappudu cheppinavi kalipi ilaa raasaanu). Pranahitha ni mail cheyamani cheppaanu on how and what she felt after talking to these couple ani. She said she will try. * Summary: * Pranahitha and team agreed to help Paparao garu. They will help Divena and we can use that money for helping Paparao. This is for technical reasons. Tomorrow Paparao garu will be discharged and Sarath is our volunteer who will take up this task. Divena's father Subbarao garu will help Sarath. Sarath will be going to NIMS by 11:30 am. He will be with Paparao garu to complete all the procedures and will take the couple to ESI and will admit and inform to us about the ward details. The couple should be there for about a week and we should take care of them. They do not have any money. * In Brief: * I went to the hospital by 1 pm today. I took meals (from my home) for Mrs. Paparao. Also I met Divena's parents and brother-in-law. Paparao garu is going for Eco test. I went down but it seems that there is some problem and so they took him back to his ward. * Approximate Bill: * Meanwhile I have taken his ID Number and requested them for the amount. They said that so far Rs. 13k is pending. For Eco test it would be Rs. 500 and it would be around Rs. 10,000 @400/25 days. So overall the money would be Rs. 23,500. This is only bill and they do not have money with them. * Procedure: * They have to go to ESI Hospital, Erragadda. They should be there for 7 days or so and should take a letter and reports from ESI and should submit them in Vizag. If he does that it seems he might get some medicines for the rest period. * Paparao gari thoughts: * His ideas are like this: He wants to resign to his job so that he will get Rs. 1000 as pension. He wants to apply for a job (in an office) and he said that he will save 100 rs. or 200 rs. every month and will send to us for social work. He is inspired by all of us (he told that to me). It also seems that the daughters are good but their economic condition is not so good and so they can't help her. He is ready to work here also. * The details: * I met Mr. Khaneel who provided food to Mrs. Paparao all these days and he is the one who helped them to submit an application to CM for the CMRF. Mr. Khaneel told me that he rang to one of the sons-in-law of Paparao garu and he told him that even to come to Hyderabad, they have to take loan. So they are in a very helpless situation. Mrs. Paparao explained me what happened. It seems that her eldest daughter stays near by and she will bring curries to them. She also gave Rs. 1000 by mortgaging her gold earrings. They went to Vizag with that money and got treated in KGH. Later they referred him to NIMS. To come to Hyderabad, second son-in-law gave Rs. 300 and the third one gave Rs. 500. She mortgaged the ration card for Rs. 1000 and with that money they came to Hyderabad and joined in ESI. She broke out while she is saying that to me. Somehow they got one lakh rupees from ESI. He used to sit as an attender @ Rs. 30 per day and she goes to prepare Camphor Garlands that are used for marriages. For 12 garlands, they will give 2 rs. As explained to us by Paparao garu, he had an Angiogram test and Angioplasty on May 2005 and they kept two stunts (Rs. one lakh or eighty thousand). Dr. Sinha in Vizag hospital talked to the Mgmt. but they didn't agree. He reduced his fee and also gave him 1100 rs. worth of medicines for free. * Pranahitha's visit: * Pranahitha and one of her team members agreed to help Paparao garu. Pranahitha asked me to pay to Paparao garu whatever the amount might be (within 25k I suppose) and she will pay to Divena (even the amount we paid earlier). This is for organizational reasons. They have raised the fund for a small girl and someone might object if they give some money for an old man. So she wanted to tell to her team members like they helped for Divena, a 17 year old girl. Pranahitha and her friend Hari Krishna came to NIMS Hospital. Actually she wanted me to convey before 5 pm so that they can give money to us. In the morning we thought that Paparao garu will be discharged today itself. I am in regular touch with Pranahitha and asked her to visit and talk to the couple once. Both of them are very much moved. They brought apples for Divena and also for Paparao garu. She also gave Rs. 500 to Mrs. Paparao. She is also thinking of helping them by joining in any oldage home for the time being so that they will get the much needed rest. * Members who visited NIMS today: * SatyaKrishna came with his colleague Venu. They took permission and were in the hospital for almost 45 minutes. Satyakrishna knows about heart problems and different tests and medicines. He explains everything and he gives much courage to the patients and their attendants. His friend also was moved by knowing about the plight of Paparao garu and his wife. He is interested to give Rs. 100. SK himself will contribute Rs. 100. Two of his friends also expressed their interest and they might contribute 100 rs. each. Sarath too came with his friend Ravi in the evening, though he is very busy. I requested him to come today itself so that I can introduce him to Paparao garu and his wife. Kasyap too visited NIMS for Divena. I will update this in a separate mail. * My thoughts (as a member): * We need to support them by all means. They are completely helpless. 99125-87649 We will take care of them while they are in the ESI Hospital and will give some money to go to Vijayanagaram and submit all the necessary documents and complete the formalities. He might get some amount for the rest period for medicines. He will resign his job and he will get a pension of Rs. 1000. Meanwhile we will talk to our Vijayanagaram (Du) and Vizag (Dr. Sundar and Subbu) friends and see if there are any good oldage homes there or else we will search here and will accommodate them for his rest period. Also we can show him some means of earning. He studied SSLC and he said he can do any paper work sort of thing. We can find a job which is not of strain but a normal one. He is ready to work in Hyderabad as well. But I feel it would be good if they are in their native place and near to their daughters. If they are far to them, they might yearn to see them or meet them. If they are in their own place, one day or other, their daughters will visit them. I am not sure what would be the budget to take up this task. I think we will have Pranahitha's team support as well for this cause. I know that the nature of this case is completely new and different than the cases that we took up so far, might be common in hospitals. As we helped him initially, it would be good if we do not stop here and provide him whatever is necessary for him to stand on his own feet again. I rang to my aunt who is working as an MDO in Vijayanagaram Dt. She even spoke with Paparao garu for 2 minutes. She told me not to give money at once and also she would visit them once they are back in Vijayanagaram. She said that if they have any LIC Policy kind of things, govt. can help. Otherwise there is no option. But if I insist, she is interested to help them personally but she questioned me for how many cases, we can help!! I feel their need is very genuine. He is not even interested to stay in an oldage home and wanted to work and help. That is his spirit. But no one has confidence on him as he is very weak for his age (55 years). Musali Dampatulanu madhyalo vadileyakundaa sahaayam chesina vaaram avutaamu. Manam lekapoyi umte vaaru emi chesi untaaru ani adagachchu meeru. I do not know how much emotional pressure they will be in and how would it affect his health. Last night both the couple haven't slept at all as they couldn't make on how they could sustain and how they can manage. I saw him eating the apple brought by Pranahitha with much interest. (emta aakaligaa undo mari paapam). Please share your thoughts as well. -- Thank you. with regards, PRASANTHI. ---- When you want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
