Hello Friends,

As I told we met Khalid and his sister first. At that time I spoke with him
for few minutes.

*About his friends:*

He told that he is working as a Driver for some industrialist. He along with
some of his driver friends regularly donate blood and some of the youngsters
in the minority association also do that often. But they do not give to
blood banks as they are not of use to the poor. He told me that anytime if
we go to Blood Bank there will be long queue and we can find the middlemen
there who charges Rs. 1000 for each unit of blood. That is why they are not
interested but if anyone needs urgently, they will give.

*His Ideas:*

*Taking consent from other groups:*

He also met a patient who needs A- blood and he could manage three donors
and one person is needed, of any group. In this effort, he met a patient who
belongs to Ayyappa Sangham and came to know that they also donate blood
regularly. This patient's operation is not done because of this blood and he
is waiting for two months or so.

He says that he wants to talk with other Sanghams (SatyaSai, Kamma etc.,)
and wanted to display posters in the wards where the people need donations.
Like, we, so and so persons, want to donate blood and people can consult
them for help, if needed.

*His appeal to the Director of NIMS:*
As we know, the patients will be given beds in rooms and for the patients
who move to sixth ward, the relatives has to lay on the floor beside. (All
of us who visit NIMS know it well). It seems that they have a stiff with the
Security and at the same time, Director came to rounds.

He showed the Director the plight of these people. As they are paying nearly
one lakh on an average for every operation, why these relatives are
neglected and why they can't be given a proper place to stay instead of the
floor. Everyone there explained the same to the Director. Seems the Director
is convinced and asked him to submit a letter.

I told him that our group members also will sign it.

I also told him about our group's intention to adopt the hospital and
helping the poor in whatever way we can and we will support the forming the
network of blood donors.

*To be in touch:*

I already have his number. Paparao garu gave me. He has taken my number.

I told him that we will invite him to our meeting in April and we are
interested to sign the letter that he will submit to the Director about the
plight of 6th ward patients' relatives..

*Other details:*
The girl, Somi, is his cousin, aunt's daughter. It seems that the aunt's
husband doesn't take proper care of wife and children and so he has to help
them. So far he helped them for some 45k. He also applied for CM Fund and at
that time he doesn't even know about PM Fund.

He says that he likes his sisters (she is also the aunt's daughter) because
they study well and they get 80% in every class. The one who got operated
completed Degree and is interested to pursue further studies. The other one
is in her final year of degree and she wants to do MBA.

Thank you.

with regards,
PRASANTHI.
