IMHO, someone could probably also try pursuing the case at Care itself
directly. I mean, they're not going to do it based on a ration card;
they want an absolute proof for them that these people are in the low
income group, so low that they have a white ration card. In this case,
these people are probably in such a low income group that they didn't
even bother to get a ration card! (Getting them a ration card is
probably good in the long run, but it's a different issue.) If only
someone can go find the family's financial situation and mediate with
Care authorities, I think this can be taken care of.

PS: Still didn't find time for the archives :-( And, BTW, the IIT-Delhi
guy (Pavan) who required a kidney transplantation - he's got the money
(3.5 L) needed for the operation. (Prasanthi, as a further reference,
this message was what brought me into this group.)
