Good info Krishna. Pretty much have all the necessary details in ur mail.

Genuine case that needs help asap. I think that sirishas' parents have
already pushed the illness pretty far....unable to afford medical
care. Scary to note that the little girl faints once a while when
walking or playing.

Prasanthi...according to me..this is wht I feel we should do:

Assign the whole case to one hyd member with subject to talking to the
family and so on...so that we avoid confusion...and have clarity of
the situation. With how krishna worded his mail...I think he will be
more than happy (?) to take up this if feasible.

If another hyd member volunteers....he/she can co-ordinate the medical
part...as in....one who can go along with the family to doctor visits
...talk to doctors on their behalf and so on. This is important
keeping in mind that those people are uneducated specially. Someone
needs to make sure they understand the gravity of the situation. They
wont' be able to converse/communicate with the doctors as required
either becos of their ignorance on the subject/issue or their
financial difficulties. (WE HAVE TO CASH SOME PRELIMINARY TESTS
EXPENSES if required)

Together these two members can give us all the details on wht the
doctors quote (weighing the case on humanitarian grounds) and when is
supposed to be the deadline/date (keeping in mind the sooner the
better) for the required surgery.

We then between ourselves will/can figure out how to raise that
amount. Chandra here (USA) will transfer what we can send
ofcourse..and u (prasanthi) can take care of the hyd part.

Someone or the same members dealing with the case can keep track of
actual funds outflow to proper channels/cause/aid. (Includes lot of
work on receipt management and so on..)

This way...I think the work will be distributed...and another active
member of the group gets to monitor a case oh his/her own aswell. On
personal grounds..this might be way more inspiring n satisfying to the
ppl dealing with the family directly. The same members or someone else
if interested can deal with the after surgery recovery process and
details. Here the qn comes in about need for extra funds for after
maintenance medication etc. Based on the info then...further planning
can/shud be done.

This is way easier said than done. I understand that part since a
member needs to pull out time/energy for doing all this keeping
his/her work/personal schedules balanced. But hey this is what we all
wish to do...isnt it? Help out keeping our other work n home life
balanced paralelly. So I leave it up to u guys in hyd then. Since we
here in US can only talk :( or suggest...and send money. SAD :( We
cant' help in person...but hey we are still lending out our helping
hand one way or the other.

I feel that this case needs our first attention...in all the cases we
have on had today. Every life matters...not that one weighs less than
the other..but...a little girl as fragile as this..who has seen
nothing in life yet....and coming from a family of uneducated people
of poor means who struggle for everyday living...AND the fact that
inspite of knowing the situation from when the girl was 6 months,
nothing is/could be done till date...is so heart breaking. How more
helpless can a parent get??? that knowing this would only take the
girls' life if not cared for....all they are left with is WAIT FOR
HELP...WAIT FOR TIME TO SLOW DOWN ITS PACE !!!!

Sinerely what I feel.....
Divya

> I went to Sireesha's home situated at Saheb Nagar,
Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad. My brother accompanied me. Sireesh's
condition is very serious and needs immediate operation. Her family is
really poor. They are living in a small rented house with single room
and tiny kichen attached in a weaker section colony. Her father is a
normal carpenter without regular income. Her grandmother works as
aaya in a college with a salary of just eleven hundred rupees per
month. She has to feed her own family also. Sireesha has one younger
sister. Sireesha's family received white ration card yesterday.
Sireesha'a heart problem was noticed at the age of 6 months.

expenditure her family is going on postponing the operation. But
recently Sireesha's condition became very serious and often she goes
into unconscious while walking and felling down all of sudden. At that
time her lips are becoming black. The doctor told to her family as
operation is required immediately else there is high risk of death. He
referred Sirishaa to Care hospital and told her parents that they will
be sent to Gandhi Hospital or Other Government hospital after checking
in care. Next procedure is Gandhi hospital people diagnoses and refers
case to care with a certificate as the patient's family is poor and
she needs operation. Then Care people will decide what to do. They are
going to Care hospital for checkup today. We told their family to
don't worry and be courageous. I have given my Phone number to
Sireesh's grandmother and asked her to update about Sireesha's
condition and what ever the doctors say. We gave a small amount to
their family and came back.

well and good but it may require money for expenditure other than
operation. If care people go for subsidised price, we have to think of
how to adjust the balance or whom to be referred.

people of Governmental hospitals are showing negligence, inhuman
behavior and corrupted. We have to take care about how Sireesha gets
immediate responce without any troubles as her condition very serious.
We have to enquire and acquire information about Sireesha often and do
the needful.
