Nachaki,

-------- specifically for Nachaki
Above all and After all, don't say that you know so many other things
:( I am afraid, I begin admiring you like I do Nanduri Srinivas :))
Dishte Dishti :))

hmm. I just cross my fingers and I will wait and see and as Karthik
said, I will do what I can, concentrating on the content part :)

not irrelevant. Skip this paragraph if you think it is unnecessary!

It's enough to check on a morsel to see if the rice in the vessel is
cooked right. Even to taste paayasam, one spoonful is enough, BUT you
first need to mix the contents of the vessel and then taste it!
Fortunate or unfortunate, the septagenarian MFH had been in news first
as an ardent fan of Madhuri Dixit, and then he was again in the news
notoriously for 'controversial' paintings. It was his way of drawing
things! Why, were there no Hindu artists ever, who drew/carved nude
figures of deities, or wrote about them?! His being a muslim has
caused most of the havoc, thanks to our extermistic so-called Hindus
a.k.a VHP et al. And, before we say he's far from being an artist,
let's not forget that he was an accomplished artist popular for more
than 30 years now (which was why no other fan of Madhuri Dixit became
so popular)! Oh, BTW, believe it or not, I never really analyzed any
of his paintings and so I can't

enthusiast in the form of Manjusha. I am not sure if there are more.
> 2. Logo designing is altogether a different ball game - not all
artists, IMHO, can design logos. Well, proof? I stand as a proof. I am
a so-so pencil artist myself (Ref:
http://www2.latech.edu/~kch008/Misc/harihara-modified.jpg - A Bapu
"imitation", in fact!), and I occasionally dab colors, esp. on the
computer. You also saw my idea of logo anyway, and you know how
"appealing" it was. I had known at least a few tens of artists in
various walks of my life and my conversations with most of them tell
me that I am right in saying logo design is not entirely about art or
even creativity.
> 3. IMHO again, a logo can't be too descriptive, given the size
constraints, like some already said. In such a situation, I prefer
using something abstract, though I am not a fan of modern/contemporary
art, also because it's easy to replicate and hard to "misreplicate".
Well, it just shouldn't be hard to interpret, though.
> 4. I have access to tens of artistes locally, and I discussed the
logo design thing with at least half of them. None of them have yet
come up with a design, suitable or not. (Refer to #2 above.)
> 5. I am still struggling to think of an acceptable,
near-non-abstract design for a logo. (This is a personal mental block
that I have - that a logo should be as simplistic as possible, with
just a few shapes and colors and not more. I am trying to shake it
off!) For me, like I said, a logo is an abstract representation of the
group that it represents - viewers should "feel" it, that's all! Here,
I beg to differ that political party symbols and flags are not "logos"
technically. (BTW, there were only 17, or 15?, states in India when
India was independent. Even by the time India was declared Republic,
there were not surely 24 states! Why, I, as a primary schooler learnt
the names of 22 states, my scant memory tells me!) All these are
"convenience symbols that carry the word". A logo is a
"representation" of an idea, and these need not always be so.
> 6. If Bapu can be accessed, he might be willing to design one for
free, given the person he is. But, I don't think we need to go that
"high" (Bapu is just an example, as much as MFH is) to design a logo!
> 7. A logo is just a logo... and it's actually something that we all
feel as members involved in activities. Give it a form, a shape, a
color, and we have it! Artistes outside the group, including my
friends available locally, cannot get the same feel as we can! Thus,
there's ample possibility that we cannot be satisfied by just some
design that an outside artist gives us!
