Prasanthi, We thought(or may be 'I thought') that we will go to the school and distribute the chappals for kids who are not wearing a pair. Under that assumption, we would have purchased chappals fo assorted sizes and gone to school with those, give a pair to a needy kid. If there is shortage/excess of sizes/pieces, come back to the shop and exchange those left outs with required size. But your suggestion sounds more apt. But do you know any retailer in particular? If no, then we have to talk to some. But one thing we cannot ruled out and that is, few kids may not wear chappals even if they have it, on the day of distribution and will ask for it. Suppose, while distributing the chappals, we come across some fresh case, what do we do? Shall we carry some spare pairs for such cases? It happened during the time of bag distribution. Even if few of them were not listed initially, still they came up with fresh requisition. Even the lady who was coordinating the work there, asked 2 bags for her 2 grandsons, the younger one was smaller than the size of the smallest bag we were carrying. For all cases, we will get such type of "created need". We should be prepare for it. And the same happened also for BDP. We minimise such cases with our experience and convincing power, but at a certain point, we give up. Nevertheless, your plan is a good one. What we need right now is VOLUNTEERS who can go and find out about this. Satyakrishna would have been a better choice as he works nearby to this area. But he is out of station. Anybody else? Ratan
