My views:
As part of our education support, there are four tasks.
1. To sponsor the school fee and/or uniform and/or books and/or exam fee of
the poor children
Involves:
----- identifying poor children
----- talking to the school management
----- paying the fee quarterly (so that we can say to
the parents that the children should be regular to school and should read
well, get good grades)
----- should talk with the child once in two or three
months and see how they are progressing and to know their problems (this is
possible if children stay near)
In another email, I mentioned few children in Hyderabad itself. One family
is near to us. They are the watchman's family in Ameer Estate. The school is
also nearby. If we can go there and talk to the school management before
23rd, that would be fine. We will know the rough estimate of our expenses on
education part.
2. Taking classes to children in orphanages and also in schools where
particular subject teachers are not available.
--- This mainly depends on the proximity part. How far is the
school/orphanage to our place
---- Completely depends on the volunteers' interest
3. Project Library --This I think once in a year project. We will collect
the books from private school children and will give them to govt. schools
where there is no library and also in orphanages.
For the success of this project, we can keep competitions to children on the
good books that they read, which one they like and why etc., This way we can
know whether they are reading or not and it improves their reading skills.
Also why not we approach any big libraries and see if they can arrange
mobile libraries to the areas where orphanages are there? If possible, if
our budget supports, we can tell them that we can take care of the expenses
and they should take care of the authenticity of the people who go with the
mobile library?
In Nellore, I can ask for I have a membership in central library and also I
know the librarian well. Here in Hyderabad, I didn't go to any library. But
I heard that there is a library in yousufguda and there is also free
internet provision.
4. Preparing reports on the schools : The details of the school like, when
it is established, strength of teachers and students, requirements etc., We
must have the photos too. We will post the details on our website and
interested donors can directly contribute to the school or can support the
school through us (only for buying the articles that the donors want to
contribute).
This task is very significant and if we can tie up with any govt. hospital
or private hospital, we can have the health checkup of the children too. If
doctors are good enough, they can guide the children too. Health counselling
is also equally important.
I actually had lot of hopes on Kishore Putta Foundation and wanted to do
Thalassemic test for all children (at young age itself) with their financial
support.
These are my views on the activities of the education team. Let me know how
