So, since many of us are willing to spend on this cause, lets figure out how
much can go from our funds towards this.

Pls who wish to donate seperately for this cause can mail back, or if they
wish part of their monthly donations already made channelled to this, pls mail
so aswell - like sunil & prasad did.

Yasoda - the money we have with us now - wht is the break up in terms of
members? Whose donations amounted to tht I mean - so tht we can mail/talk to
them directly if they are ok on using some of it to this cause.

I am sending a seperate cheque to chandra on this one for 100$.

Some info to remember abt situations like these:

Last month one of my cousins MIL came here for vadina's delivery and had to
undergo a ER Biopsy. She had no visitor insurance, and once admitted since it
was an ER case, the procedure was performed, and she was in intensive care for
almost 10 days following an angiogram (?) etc. Bill was a good 20k plus on the
first phase, and 30 plus on the second, only for the third prescription &
clinic outpatient bills yet to follow. Quite obviously my cousin was looking
for other options. I was knocking some doors for him aswell, asking around if
there is a way out we are not aware of.

One of my close frnds is a doc in county hospital of New York and according to
him, its a law here tht medical care cannot be denied to a patient in serious
need - becos of financial reasons. Patient later will be given other options
tht suit his money situation. We need to contact 'Social Worker' of the
concerned hosp, and many times they waive a good % of the bill, and forward the
balance to other NGO's registered with them & see if they take up the bills on
patient's behalf, or give the patient an option to meet the bill in multiple
instalments down to whichever many years it takes.

This is an FYI to US members here, just so u know that certain options do
exist, in case.

An update:
Just spoke to Mahender Kanaparthi. He is out of danger, but doctors are not
able to tell yet when he can come out of coma. One good sign is - starting from
today he is able to breath with nose (instead of mouth) and bad sign is -
swelling started. Doctors said they may have to do a surgery. There is a lot of
pressure on the hospital, so they are keeping the patient in.

They had a problem with the online payment system and it will be restored by
tomorrow morning.

Let's also forward this to everybody we know in our circle and ask them to do
the same. We need more than few $100 dollars to help suresh get back on his
feet.

Orkut about this guy. I mailed to Chandra and
Yasoda to forward that to our US friends. Then I noticed that Kavita
mailed to our group.

US members, please discuss and decide. The contributors of the amount pending
with Chandra, Prasad garu and others, please share your opinion.

Contribute whatever amount we have (if that is not sent for specific
purpose/case) with Chandra to this cause. Friends, please convey your opinion
as well.

Thank you.

with regards,
Prasanthi.
