Dear All,
Yes they did have their website but they are unable to update the
pages regularly.
Whenever I call miss RajiniDevi of KKSS, or go there to meet, she
always insists me to forward other cases also to our group and try to
get some funds( I always ask abt suchitra normally).

So this time I proposed of updating their website, or if they dont
want to give their passwords to us, we can update the details in some
other pages and later they can easily synchronise it with their site.
So that they can get funds easily. We cannot support all their cases
as of now as they need lakhs of rupees.

Regarding adoption, Yes, they already give kids for adoption and they
say that normally no baby stays there in KKSS for more than 6 months
:))

Just now I received their news letter kind of thing with latest
details. Its good and I will add it here. The baby adopted by a couple
photo is very nice. But I could not add it here. will update in grp
site.

Someone suggest where to update these details. In a blog or our site?
our site wont be nice I guess. Let it be independent .

RUN BY KALAISELVI KARUNALAYA SOCIAL WELFARE SOCIETY

Dear Donor,

Since you have been such an instrumental part of ensuring the quality
of life we are trying to give the children at Kalaiselvi Karunalaya
Social Welfare Society, we would like to update you on some of the
events that have taken place over the last few weeks at KKSS and
Angel's House.

New Babies at KKSS

When 2 month old baby Akshaya was abandoned as a preterm baby at the
hospital, she was given over to us at KKSS on October 23 of this year.
At 1.4 kg she was extremely at risk for health problems and, after one
day at KKSS, was immediately brought to the Dr. Rangarajan Memorial
Hospital with complaints of a cough and signs of bronchiolitis. Upon
entry she received treatment with funds from our donors, requiring Rs.
3500 over the course of two days for her pharmaceutical needs. Two
days later baby Akshaya was discharged to us, this time in a
clinically healthy state. She had already gained 0.2 kg at the time of
her release.

Currently you will find baby Akshaya to be very content here at KKSS,
receiving the proper special care that she needs and wrapped up from
head to toe to keep her little body warm. She is slowly growing and
gaining weight and we have confidence, thanks to your generous
donations, that she will continue to improve.
It is success stories like this that we so love to share with you, in
thanks for your continuing support of our organization. Please know
that we are always grateful for your help and support.

Baby Abandoned in Back Yard

We would like to tell you about a new baby that has just been
transferred to our Angel's House orphanage center. This baby was ten
days old when it was abandoned in the backyard of the Salem Polyclinic
Hospital. A ward boy found the baby and brought it to the manager, who
in turn notified a social worker of the situation. The baby has now
found a home at KKSS where she is being fed on a special diet. The
baby is healthy and yet was evidently abandoned because it is a
female. This is yet again another reminder that female infanticide and
abandonment is happening even today in the 21st century, and it should
keep us all aware that we need to continually fight for the cause of
these baby girls.
The baby has been named Alexa after a volunteer from Canada who is
currently here for a month to help care for the babies at Angels
House.

Girl Dedicated to Goddess

We would like to draw your attention to a publicized incident
involving KKSS. Last week The Hindu published an article about a
thirteen year old girl in Villupuram who had been dedicated to a
goddess by her father. Once the situation had been discovered, the
girl was removed by a social worker and placed in our women's home in
the Villupuram location. There is proper evidence to show that the
girl was forced into this dedication against her will, but that it was
not her choice. She has expressed to members of the women's home in
KKSS her desire to continue with her studies and her wish to stay in
school, and through KKSS she has now been placed in the Ulundurpet
government school. KKSS has agreed to house the girl in our women's
hostel until she is able to complete her schooling.
This has been an example of KKSS' positive work with women and a
public example of how KKSS benefits those in the below-poverty line.
We hope that this news is encouraging to you as a donor, and reassures
you that your continued donations are going to positive causes in the
community.

Baby Nandita Update :

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to send you many
thanks for your overwhelming response to our plea for baby Nandita! We
had asked for donations of a special milk formula called Neocate that
was only available from overseas, and immediately we received help
from all of you. Baby Nandita received the special milk formula and is
doing very well now. In further good news, Nandita has been adopted by
a loving local family who are delighted to give her a good life. We
want to thank you for giving her a life that her new parents can love!
Currently, then, we do not require any more Neocate as Nandita's
parents are now responsible for any further treatment. Thank you again
for your wonderful and quick response!

Again, thank you always for your generous donations and your continued
support of the work and values we uphold at KKSS. We cannot tell you
enough of our gratitude.

Regards,
