Dear All, Forgive me for not taking active part in the discussions. I have few things to share with you.
The first being the help required for a very poor girl from Kondapur, a small village in Penukonda Mandal. Her Name is Anusha and her mother name is Nagamma. I found the story in Eenadu Anantapuram. http://www.eenadu.net/archives/archive-15-12-2007/story.asp?qry1=36&recc\ ount=36 <http://www.eenadu.net/archives/archive-15-12-2007/story.asp?qry1=36&rec\ count=36> She has Dextrocardia= Heart on the right side and VSD = Ventricular Septal Defect: a hole between two chambers(Ventricles) in the heart. Dr.Sanjeevappa mentioned in the story, is a good friend of mine and he is working as the PHC doctor in Penukonda Mandal. The girl has been selected for the Surgery in Vijayawada and the cost of the surgery is paid by the Govt. through the "Arogya Sree" Program. The sad part of the story is the family, a nomadic tribe, can't afford to travel or bear the expenses in the city. My request to the group is to fund their travel and/or their expenses for stay in Vijayawada and if possible any volunteer working form Vijayawad can help them in the new place. If you need more details, please contact Dr.Sanjeevappa at 9440521620 and you can contact the Eenadu reporter also through him. ********************** Second one being the story of a girl with great potential making our country proud. http://krishnadevarayalu.blogspot.com/2007/12/blog-post_16.html <http://krishnadevarayalu.blogspot.com/2007/12/blog-post_16.html> The girl in the story is Prabhavathi, who is a great sprinter and had won many awards in national and state level meets. She has the great potential and if we provide some basic needs like shoes and find a sponsor for her through our connections, we would be doing a great service for the Nation and the girl too. *********************** I am willing to donate $50 or Rs.2000/- for each cause and request you to follow up the cases. Thanks. and last but not the least I nominated Ms.Prashanthi and TMAD for CNN Heroes. Even though ours is a small step towards uplifting the suffering of the people, we will definitely make it big some day and extend our reach to many others in need. Let us congratulate the Heroes for their contributions to the society and especially I want to give special accolade to "Peter Kithene" the winner in Medical Marvel Section of the Heroes. Please watch them here... http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/cnn.heroes/ <http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/cnn.heroes/> Regards, Dr.Ismail Penukonda
