I came to know the following case through my colleague's uncle.
Case Details:
Patient Name: Obulamma
Age: 52 Yrs
Children: 3 Sons
Address: W/o Narasimhappa
Cholasamudram (Po)
Kuderu (M)
Ananthapur.
She met with an accident on 29th Dec and her blood clot happened in brain.
She got operated in Apollo RM hospital, Seshadripuram, Bangalore on 30th.
The operation was successful. The cost of operation and charges for bed and
medicine will costs around Rs. 1.2 L. They know one person Suresh who is
working in the same hospital. They paid Rs.40k before operation by borrowing
20k from others. My colleague's uncle also gave Rs. 5k to her. Apollo gave
permission to pay the remaining bill within 10 days (before discharging
time).
My colleague and I visited her on Jan 1st and came to know all these details
through his son Mr. Akkulappa. We couldn't talk to surgeon.
Her sons are working as daily labors.
Update on 04/01/08:
Patient's son took permission to take her Suresh's home as bed charges are
Rs.1000 per day. They will visit hospital on Monday for check up. Medicines
cost Rs.1200 per 5 days. She may go her native on Tuesday (8/1/08).
Suresh paid Rs.45 k to hospital. He will get Rs.6k per month. The patient
has to repay him.
They didn't paid Medical bills of cost around Rs.15 k. Totally they need
support for Rs.60k.
We didn't get Doctor's contact number as he works for other hospital. Suresh
told that Surgeon will come on Monday, so he will arrange to talk to Dr over
phone.
