*Opportunity to Make A Difference!*

Want to make a difference to the world and not yet sure what the best use of
your skills would be? Struggling to decide whether you shd "create wealth"
or "create change"?

*www.GiveIndia. org <http://www.giveindia.org/>* is India's first
"philanthropy exchange", that hopes to catalyse a "giving culture" in India
[to get an idea of what a "giving culture" looks like, pls see http://images.

Founded in 2000, it already connects >50,000 Indian donors with over 150
NGOs in India, working on a wide range of causes from health, education,
disability to livelihoods, environment and gender issues. Channelling over
Rs15cr p.a., GiveIndia impacts over 100,000 people's lives every year, and
is probably the 3rd largest fund-channelling intermediary in India behind
CRY and Helpage.

In a sector where "retail fundraising costs" range from 30-50% of the funds
raised even among the leading players, GiveIndia operates at a 9% cost of
funds raised. This is made possible by a committed team of professionals
who've quit mainstream corporate jobs to work full time for the cause, thus
enabling the use of innovative strategies, efficient, IT driven processes
and systems to bring about this difference. They are equally backed by a
great team of dedicated volunteers who spend between 2-60 hours a week
volunteering pro bono :-). The team has alumni from IIMs, IITs, ISB, TISS
and several other reputed institutions.

GiveIndia is the official charity partner for the Mumbai Marathon and the
Delhi Half Marathon. It's flagship Payroll Giving Programme now reaches
almost 20,000 employees across companies like the ICICI Group, HDFC, HSBC,
Deutsche, Yes Banks, NDTV, StarTV, ZeeTV, Genpact, WNS, Piramals, Thermax
and several other companies.

As India shines for some of us, it gets bleaker for others. Basic "equal
opportunity" rights like education, health, water and sanitation are
increasingly getting privatised, leaving more than 300 million people
without even a fair chance to earn a decent lifestyle. And yet, never before
have the well-off Indians been more ready to "give back" and do their bit to
help. What is missing is the link- the connection that will help those who
want to give reach out to those who need their help, in as efficient and
effective a manner as possible.

Which is where you come in :-).

GiveIndia is poised to scale up significantly and reach 1 million donors by
2010. But to do so, it needs a team of committed, high quality professionals
to take on key roles such as driving "outreach" or "sales", conceptualising
and implementing communication strategies, leveraging the internet to drive
giving and greater donor engagement, building and managing robust financial
and MIS systems to constantly improve organisational efficiency,
strengthening NGO due diligence models and means to gather and share
relevant "NGO performance" information with donors, creating and sustaining
an IT infrastructure that can act as the "nervous system" of the
organisation, and so on.

This is a great opportunity to take on lots of responsibility, and to grow
and learn fast. It involves intellectually challenging and emotionally
rewarding hard work. The money is not great, but you can get by comfortably,
and easily catch up if you head back to the corporate sector in a few years
with the skills and exposure you will gain.
Most positions are based in Mumbai, though possibilities exist in Delhi,
Pune and Bangalore as well. We're small enough as an organisation to be able
to customise a role that leverages your skills best, but big enough to do so
only if you are exceptionally talented :-). If you have an amazing track
record, are from a top ranking institute, and seek a CXO position or wish to
create a "division" of your own, please write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
org<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
If you or someone you know wants a career in the nonprofit sector, but is
more suited for a middle or entry level position, please check out the
positions listed at www.giveindia. org <http://www.giveindia.org/> and apply
to [EMAIL PROTECTED] org <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
