Hai All,
Sunday, 10.02.2008, TMAD chennai met two more groups present in
chennai. One Ramakrishna garu of divali foundation and koti reddy of
matru anurag group.
We three visited udhavum ullangal illam, an orphanage Home run by
three retired officers from chennai. The home has around 60 inmates(
we have got the list of kids--I will upload the list shortly to some
web page).
when I invited my frd to the orphanage the day before, he said, he
wants to visit such Homes but he is afraid to see their plight. After
that I too was thinking, how will be the kids, and will i be able to
see them?
But once I entered, I felt so happy. All the kids are so active,
energetic and healthy. Its a wonderful place.
Rk garu of divali foundation, pays their monthly milk bill of 5000
rupees. For that he used to come once in every month. Last year
february 10th(same day), when he came to pay the bill, one mr. sunesh
was celebrating his Bday in the home with his friends. Then Rk garu
took their numbers and the next month, when he visited, he asked them
to come and they readily accepted. From then they started birth day
celebration for the kids of the home. Once in a month, they all go
there and celebate the bday of all the kids born in that month.
So Yesterday also Rk garu and sunesh frds brought cakes and the kids
enjoyed a lot. One of sunesh's friends, swaminathan entertained the
kids. He taught them five engish words. All the kids there feel them
as their friends. RK garu doesnt know much tamil, so he left this part
of interaction with kids, to sunesh N frds...
After that, we left the kids as they have exams this month.
RK gaari wife also participated along with him.
Then we discussed abt our future plans in chennai city. That i will
write in my next mail.
But the Home is very well maintained and we could see the freedom the
kids get(enjoy) there. :)))))
