Siva Sankar, Fayaz and I visited Divine School in Uppal. Siva Sankar belongs to a group called Sankalp. Fayaz is from Maatru Anuraga. We came to know about this school through one of our members. Divine School, 2-17-16, Dharmapuri Colony, Uppal, Hyd - 39. Ph: 27205778. This is run by a retd. Group I Officer. He is a very simple and completely spiritual person who attributes every thing to god. He looks like a yogi. His purpose is to instill values in deprived children through education. Though there is a fee structure, they never collected it. It is a sort of if people give money they take, otherwise no. He runs it with his pension money. There is only one teacher apart from him. That teacher is the person who worked under Upendra garu. He is a Muslim. Both are retired. He comes all the way from Charminar to teach these kids for free. They type the subjects and teach them as the children do not afford text books. Every requirement is scarce but not knowledge. The kids are active and they answered all the questions very well. They need complete support from outsiders. They want to teach the good in all religions. They do not want the children to be confined with religion but to learn the good in everything and also to practise values and follow simple life. This is a place one should visit for once and decide for themselves. I didn't take any photos or video. But Ms. Sadhana, daughter of Upendra Mallick, told that she will mail the photos and videos to me. These were taken by her elder sister. They need text books, note books, uniform and any scientific equipment. It would be good if anyone of our groups or corporate companies adopt this school and run it with the values that Upendraji wants to inculcate in the children. Siva Sankar wants to contribute 1000 rs. to this school and he will donate once we receive the bank account details. I also thought of forwarding the details of the school to some organizations and people who are with the same ideology. >From Uppal Cross Roads, you have to go to Dharmapuri Colony. Baba temple is famous in that area. But it is not easy to get the direction. So it is better to ring to them and go. They will send the children to baba temple if we can go till there.
