What a wonderful meeting it was!!

Friends, felt very very happy today with respect to our group after a
long time. We have a good turn up though some are missing. I wondered
what a good strength it would be if all of us join. Anyway I hope the
monthly meeting of June is a good beginning and feel that the count
would be increasing as well as the activities.

As Chaitanya would be posting the MoM, I refrain myself from writing
the same. It was a meeting where we discussed all the topics without
arguing much :) and we quickly got the volunteers too for the
activities. Overall the mood was cheerful and the output was good.

My colleague Mr. Anil Madugula is the new member who attended the
meeting. Rajeswara Rao garu is a dormant member but he reads all
mails. He came to India from abroad a month back and he attended this
meeting. One more surprise is our Sarvantaryami. He came with his
parents. Thanks Nachaki.

** Vani will work on the brochure and the plan is to complete the
first page in a week. The entire brochure would be completed in two
weeks.

** Anil Madugula would be taking the responsibility of updating the
Web site (with respect to Hyderabad activities) once in a week.

** Kasyap would be the Media Co-ordinator and also the one
responsible for ID Cards and T-Shirts.

** Prasanthi will follow up about the 'Virus Warning' message about
our Web site in Google Search.

========

We will be taking Education as the key focus for the coming two
months. Everyone of us would be working on Education.

The goal is to find the complete details of 15 funding organizations
(with two visits to each organization). Chaitanya listed 15
organizations about which we posted in our group. Each member will
take the responsibility of meeting one organization. Chaitanya will
assign an organization to each one of us in Hyderabad and June 15th
is the deadline. Chaitanya will be following up this activity.

If at all we come across any help request and when we find the
request suits particular organization, the member who is in touch
with this organization would take care of the co-ordination. The
purpose is to maintain a good rapport with the organizations and also
to ensure effective dealing of cases that come to our notice.

=======

In the monthly meeting of May, our members expressed interest to take
up an activity where we can see a marked difference and most of them
opined that it would be a good idea to work in a slum. Due to the
constraints we decided that this is not the right time to take up
such a project.

But..... we decided to do an analysis and Dr. Sundar would be taking
this responsibility of finding these details. We wanted to start this
project in a slum where we have good access. As Dr. Sundar is
associated with this slum for the past two, two and half years, we
decided to check if we can take up this slum.

Dr. Sundar and his team already did two surveys and he can do a third
survey too. There are around 500 families there. Occupation of women
is domestic help and men is construction work. Majority of the
children goes to school but they need a good teacher who can teach
Maths in Telugu Medium. Arogya Bharathi team is conducting regular
medical camps (Dr. Sundar is also a regular doctor) and for the
people with serious health problems operations were carried out in
Gandhi and Osmania hospitals. Overall this is a place where situation
is not completely worse and comparatively near and easily accessible.
What we can do here is to think of providing Livelihood opportunities
to improve their standard of living and also see how best we can help
for the overall development of the area and the people.

In August month's meeting Dr. Sundar would be providing us the survey
data, no. of families, occupation, age groups, requirements etc.,
Based on that we will decide whether we take up that activity or not.

=================================

For July month's meeting we will discuss our experiences in fulfiling
our responsibility, the challenges that we faced in getting the
details etc., Instead of having a long goal and debating on them
seriously, we decided to focus on short term goals first and every
month we decide the focus for that particular month.

Thank you.

with regards,
Prasanthi.
