Hello Friends,

Greetings.

Thank you all for the wishes.

Usually I do not mail wishes to the group on any festival. But today
I am really tempted to say the wishes because it is indeed a very
Happy Diwali.

We try for so many things and despite good intentions and efforts,
things do not really take off and we receive criticism of all
meetings and no actions etc., etc., to name a few. Though we are
confident, at times, we too feel we are not doing good. But out of
the blue, all of a sudden, you find things fall into place and it is
such a joy to experience it. We often quote Diwali as a festival of
joy and am really feeling it today.

Ever since I saw about Batti Bandh and wanted to do campaign against
Global Warming, met so many experienced people, thanks to our friends
in Bosf. At that time thought of bringing all Environment groups on
to a platform and work together for this cause. But it didn't take
shape. We tried for conducting awareness/knowledge sessions in
different software companies and some of our friends know about it.
That to didn't happen.

But my meeting with Dr. Vasant Bawa lead to know about Gandhi Ashram
in Pallepadu, Bapu Ghat, Hyderabad and then about Seetanagaram,
Rajahmundry and then it triggered our trip to Wardha. But it has been
in my mind that I am not successful in bringing the environment
groups together. Thanks to our anniversary meeting, we met
enthusiastic volunteers.

When we visited Bapu Ghat, I met Sundeep and introduced Dr. Bawa to
him. Sandeep is one committed individual. He is dedicated for the
cause of nature and he believes in the preservation of forests and
saving wildlife. He is a key person of Kids for Tigers. His main
place of activity in Kavval National Forest in Adilabad Dt. Last
Sunday I met Vrudhdhi group volunteers. They are very open and are
ready to work together. They said they are interested to know the
subject and they are ready to spare Sundays.

Following happened eventually:

1. A session on RTI by Rakesh - 23rd November, 10 am to 12:30 pm
2. A day long session on climate change and environment - 30th
November, 10 am to 5 pm
3. Support for the second phase of I am No Lab Rat Campaign.

Also in the pipeline are:

The visit to Organic Farming Village, Enbavi near Warangal. CSA
people are so co-operative that I got a very quick response with the
details.
Meeting with Engineers without Borders

Also a session on RTI in Nellore was pending for the past 10 months,
from Feb. At last we are going to conduct it on 13th of December.
Thanks to Rakesh, Nagendra garu and Ramakrushnam Raju garu for their
support.

Most probably we will get Computers (used ones) for Seetanagaram
Ashram from Hellosoft and we will be giving blankets to the Ashram.
They need a Laser Printer and benches for children and we are trying
to raise funds for it with the help of people who belong to East
Godavari Dt.,

The proposal of reviving Bapu Ghat and the efforts are moving forward
with hope and confidence. The meeting this morning created much hope.

Together we can achieve more. I hope we will continue to work
together and realize our collective goals.

Thank you.

with regards,
Prasanthi.
