Friends, Actually I typed a big mail on Monday itself and lost it unfortunately as I didn't save. Didn't get time to type again.
Participants: 9 members Prasanthi, Harinath, Rakesh Arya Somayajula, Nachaki, Satyakrishna, Chaitanya, Kasyap, Sarat and Dr. Sundar. Education: 1. Agreed to take Mehdipatnam school children to Zoo - Date fixed as 16th November, Sunday, for Sandeep to come. Chaitanya, Satya, Sarat promised to come as volunteers. Nachaki's presence is tentative. He got his VISA and will be flying to US this month end. So he will be busy. 2. Manavata group will get back to us in a week about adopting Mehdipatnam school. Harinath introduced them to Naresh one to two months ago. They discussed with Naresh garu and also took the video of children and the school. 3. Nachaki told about a Magician whom he met in a function. He spoke with him and the Magician said that he is interested to give Programmes in Orphanages for free. In Govt. Schools, he can do on a concession basis. It will cost a minimum of Rs. 4000 (on concession - Nachaki, please specify the exact amount). These are the details of the Magician: Exotic Events - Elevate to Excel, K.K. Raja, B.E., M.I.E., 6-1-85/G/A, Saifabad, Hyd -4. Ph: 23215555, Mobile: 98852- 81545. 4. Nachaki found one more boy (who completed only 4th class) and working. Total 3 boys. Prasanthi found two who sell American Corn near Big Bazaar, Ameerpet. So there would be 5 boys (3 completed SSC, 1 has to write one/two pending papers, 1 has to write SSC) on the whole who require our support, guidance and motivation. 5. Muruganathan, Naga Soundar and Kalyan, colleagues of Murali, who helped Sahitya to buy books, mailed that they need our suggestions in helping students for their Education. I forwarded Dumpala Karthik's friend's details. They need support as they are very poor. All of them are Engg. students studying in Vijayanagaram. I also mailed them about the 5 students that we identified recently (Point 4). They also wanted our inputs on how do we choose the cases, how do we verfiy, whether Registration is required etc., I am yet to write them in this regard. Medical: 1. Chaitanya met one Nephrologist in NIMS to discuss a case forwarded by Pavan. It seems Nephrology Department doctors of NIMS are going to villages to create awareness about kidney related problems and also to test the villagers. This is to identify the problems in the early stages so that they will not mature into failure stage that needs a transplantation. It costs around Rs. 5 to Rs. 6 to test a patient. If we can offer our help to this programme, they can reach to more villagers/poor people and also down the line the cost per head also will be decreased. We agreed to contribute Rs. 2000 from Jan '09 onwards from our Medical Fund. Chaitanya will discuss further and then decide on the formalities (when, how etc.,) 2. Chaitanya feels that the case that we worked on need not be taken up due to dependency factor. He got an impression that the patient's family and relatives are not taking enough responsibility. 3. OCMS project is in progress. **Harinath is examining the Symphony Enviornment. By this month end, he hopes to get an idea of the Environment. In December, he wants to complete few important modules and any other basic things that he only can do for this project. **Nellore students prepared a plan and they are learning the concepts suggested by Harinath. **Chaitanya is also interested in this Project and he will meet Harinath some time this month to understand the technologies/tools and the specification. 4. Administrative Tasks ** Chaitanya is in touch with the CA person who audits Sphoorti Foundation work. As our account is not created till May '08, we will show nil transactions from Sep '07 and May '08. By April '09 we hope to get the Income Tax Exemption. Chaitanya is working on the necessary formalities. ** Chaitanya brought 3 booklets of Letter Head and Receipt Books. One is given to Harinath. The other two are with Prasanthi. Prasanthi will take one book to Nellore to give to Nlr and Blr members. Adi will be coming to Nellore on 10th and she will handover them to him. ** Kasyap bought the stamps(2 models) and they are with Prasanthi. She will take them to Nellore and get two sets - one for Nlr and one for Blr. 5. TMAD Web site Creation **Prasanthi has to work on the Use Cases for the new requirements (By 12th November). The purpose is to automate as many tasks as possible. **Harinath will be guiding us in this regard as well. **Kasyap and Rakesh will help us in getting the volunteers for this task. 6. Data Mining **Dr. Bala and Santosh Alladi showed interest to collect the data in our mails and post in the forum that we created (http://tomakeadifference.freeforums.org) **Harinath opined that it would be a re-work if we post in that forum. Instead he suggested that he will create a forum in his Web site and when our Web site would be ready, we can directly import from his database to our site's database. He already created the database: http://sosoft.org/bb 7. RTI Session in Nellore **Date is decided as 13th December. We paid Rs. 2300 towards the rent of TownHall. On 13th, we have to pay Rs. 1000 for Electricity Bill and the remaining amount will be given after the meeting. **Prasanthi will be in Nellore on 7th, 8th and 9th and she will meet other NGO representatives to discuss on the publicity, programme and other finer details. **Group agreed to fund this programme. Prasanthi will spent initially and group will reimburse against the bills. **Speakers are coming on their own. We are not paying the conveyance charges. We will be providing accommodation and food. **Jayadev, our Hyd member, contributed Rs. 1000 for this meeting. Others **Dr. Giri gave a cheque for Rs. 4700 to our group.
