About VELUGURI FOUNDATION
VMRG (Veluguri Management Resourcing Group) International started in
1997. It has been functioning as a centre for providing training in
Media, IT, Tourism, English and other foreign languages on one hand
and as an organization for providing media services on the other. In
a span of 10 years, VMRG has made available over 4000 experts to
various fields. Similarly it is conducting various programs that
benefit 1000s of students. The training sessions conducted by us for
developing employable skills are getting good response. Veluguri
foundation, parent entity of VMRG is conducting these sessions.
This "project after 10th" was started with the intent of making
available comprehensive information in various fields, freely to
students who have completed their class 10th or equivalent. A good
number of organizations are providing key support to Veluguri
Foundation to make this project a grand success.
Project Overview
What after 10th classÂ…?
10th standard is the first step for the future of any student. In
India, 10th is the first prominent milestone for literacy. The real
education starts from here for all students. While first 5 standards,
considered as primary education provide introduction to basics in the
necessary languages, sciences and mathematics, the subjects are
covered in detail till 10th. All these are useful for career at some
level. But the actual long term career preparation starts from 10th.
Hence proper guidance is necessary for students from their parents
and teachers. But majority of teachers and parents do not have proper
understanding of all courses required after 19th. As a result many
students flock to MPC, BPC as a craze. With this the student does not
have the opportunity to select based on his/her personal interest. In
this context VMRG published a guide on "What after 10th" for the
first time in 2002 for eliminating such information gaps and
providing proper counseling for students after 10th class. This is
the first book in India with consolidated information on courses to
choose after 10th. VMRG published 5 editions of this book on cost-to-
cost basis. This book is supplied free of cost to all government
schools in the state once in every 3 years. This wealth of
information was reached all government schools for free in 2002 and
2005.
Project after 10th
There are a lot of differences between 2002 and today, in the matters
of courses they can select and available jobs for 10th standard
students. Information has grown from 80 pages then to 400 pages now.
Training courses have increased in various fields. On the other hand,
new employment opportunities have materialized that require only 10th
education, but good communication and English speaking skills. In
this context VMRG has decided to design the new edition of this book
in a more consolidated fashion. Having distributed this publication
at low cost from the beginning, VMRG has decided to provide this
edition free to call all government and community schools in the
state. There are 19,000 + schools in the state that qualify for this.
Considering about 3 books for each school, initial estimates suggest
the need for more than 40000 copies.
Why only Government Schools?
In our country the number of students is highest in government
schools. To this day over 75% students attend government and
community schools only. The students from these schools are proving
that they are just as good if not better than any from corporate
schools through their results in standard exams every year. Even
today there are good teachers in these schools. There are teachers
who compete with corporate schools in shaping students. With proper
guidance these students have the mettle to achieve a lot. But these
students do not have the financial resources or opportunities, for
information gathering as the students of corporate schools. "Project
after 10th" was initiated for this reason and VMRG has decided to
supply the book free to all government, community and aided schools.
ResultsÂ…
Interesting facts have surfaced in the surveys conducted by VMRG
after supplying this book in 2002 and 2005. This information reached
over 3 lakh students. In about 400 schools teachers conducted career
guidance sessions to students who appeared for 10th exams. VMRG
received at least 2000 letters from students, parents and teachers.
This book won the "Publishing Excellence 2002" award. After seeing
these results, VMRG decided to publish this book only for free supply
to government, community and aided schools. Since the cost of the
project is close to 10 lakhs, VMRG decided to raise the funds from
individuals and institutions working in voluntary mode with it.
Distribution:
VMRG is in discussion with postal department to send this book to
schools at low cost and if possible free. Some well wishers have
shown interest in taking responsibility for district wise
distribution of books. A decision will be made by the time printing
is completed.
How can you help us?
There is a need for 40000 copies to be printed, as mentioned above.
While 39000 are sufficient for schools, remaining is needed for
complimentary copies and media review. The lowest quotation received
so far is for Rupees 32/copy. Veluguri Foundation is bearing Rs. 10
on each copy and 40000 copies are divided into 400 units of 100
copies each. Each unit this costs Rupees 2200. We solicit your
individual or institutional support in this for the cost of at least
1 unit. If all come together, we believe collating 400 units would
not be a problem. Popular writer Kalipatnam Rama Rao said once that
book donation is the blessing of a part life. We can be living proof
for this.

early, we will mark the books and send them over to you.
" Based on topics in the book, you can conduct career guidance
sessions. The teachers and principals of the schools can help you in
this regard.
" You can sponsor books for students in school(s) of your choice.
" You can donate books in the name of the person close to you.
Similarly you have the freedom to conduct the program for the
donation. You can buy additional books for this at cost with no
limit on quantity. But you will need to inform us by March 1, 2009 to
place order for printing.
" You will get 2 free copies for each unit.
" If you order more than 25 copies you will get 1
complimentary copy.
Is it mandatory to take 1 unit?
To make the project a success, we had to put a constraint on numbers -
hence 1 unit is mandatory. But if any well wisher is financially
constrained and wants to commit to lesser number of copies, they can
be given part of a unit. But this will be considered under special
circumstances only. You can also share the cost with your friends or
associates and sponsor 1 unit.
Since we know the prominence of 10th standard education in shaping
the future of nation, we whole heartedly wish you to take part in
this. Your advice and suggestions for project improvement are welcome.
Project Management: HOW WE MANAGE THE PROJECT?
There is only a short period of 2 months for project implementation.
Hence we feel the program can be made successful through sharing of
responsibilities. Accordingly the project has been divided into the
four (4) time based responsibilities below:
1. Content generation: 12 content writers from VMRG media center.
This committee is responsible for completing the content ready for
production by March 1, handing over a press ready copy and ownership
for printing.
2. Revenue generation team:This team will work to generate revenue in
desired manner to complete the project. Sufficient revenues need to
be generated before printing starts on March 1.
3. Promotion team:This team is responsible for cooperation in
information gathering (content generation), revenue generation and
other aspects. This team will coordinate project detail sharing
through magazines, Internet, friends, groups etc.
4. Distribution team: This team is responsible for dispatching to all
government schools in state as per list, the books that will be
printed by March 7th. This team will also negotiate with postal
department to keep the cost of mailing low.
