Dear all,

As part of National Election Watch, we will be doing the affidavit analysis
of all contesting candidates in the coming assembly and parliament
elections. This will be followed by widespread dissemination of this data
through print and electronic media, partner NGOs, website etc.

We are expecting close to 3000 affidavits this time (1500 for each phase)
and it will be huge task of data entry and dissemination. For each phase,
the estimated timeframe of dataentry and analysis is about 3 days.

A training for interested volunteers was organised on sunday (15th
March, 2008). The following issues were discussed in the session,

1. Basics of how to read an affidavit
2. Data entry and introduction to the web based tool
3. Sample data entry for 2004 data and examples
4. Plan for the election time.

Apart from those, we will also have a telugu and english version of the
website that needs to be regularly updated. Volunteers interesting in the
following are requested to attend the workshop.

1. Data entry and Quality check
2. Website in english and telugu (writing articles etc)
3. Creative posters for data dissemination
