Family Background:
*Kanna Yedukondalu* is the youngest son among the five children of the
couple Somaiah (55 years) and Subbamma (50) are from fisher folk community.
Somaiah is suffering from chronic disease and he is nowhere an earning
person. Two sons in the family got married and get separated from the
parents and living away from the village. The two unmarried sons are working
at Hyderabad as daily labors in construction work. Mrs. Subbamma is taking
part in the bread winning of the family along with her children. Since
Somaiah is seriously ill she hardly get time to go for coolie. The total
family maintenance is on the shoulders of the two children who are working
at Hyderabad. Since their own income is very low the sons are also facing
difficulties to send money to their parents.
*Yedukondalu *has gone to labor work at Hyderarbad after he completed his 5
th standard, this had happened because the family members don’t dare to send
him to school since they are not in a position to bear the education
expenses. *Yedukondalu* was also started continuing with the labour work
even he secured Mandal 1st rank in the talent test conducted by the
Government. Fortunately the MPDO, schoolteachers and panchayat surpanch came
to know that the bright student Mr. Yedukondalu remained as child labour at
Hyderabad due to his critical family conditions.
The MPDO, surpanch and Schoolteacher went to Hyderabad and traced the boy
where he is working. But the landlord is not willing to send him back since
he is under contract. The MPDO and team said about the child labour act
and warned him ultimately the boy got released from his work place and
reached his village with the best support of the MPDO and team.
Since the villagers in the village are aware of *Yedukondalu* interest on
education they contributed for his studies and *SARDS, NGO* extended some
support to him in completing of his 10th class. He *got passed* in
*1stclass in 10
th standard.*
The surpanch of the village came forward to support to join him in *
intermediate* since he is aware about his financial position and also that
he is quite hard working student. Yedukondalu had been joined in private
junior college in Ongole and successfully *completed his 1st year
Intermediate with 322 Marks out of 470 Marks*. Since the surpanch is not in
a position to support Yedukondalu his education because of his poor
financial condition, the rest of education of *Yedukondalu* remained a
question. The family still in the critical conditions and they cant do any
thing for his education. Since all the doors closed Yedukondalu is looking
for help to continue his education. He has lot of hopes in his future to
support his own family and his own village. But to realize this he is now
looking for support. Once he completed his intermediate he wants to continue
his education by doing part time job.
