Subject: Sanitation facilities RTI verification in the Osmania Hospital

Dear all,
Earlier, Rakesh of BHUMI and I (Suresh, AID-India) have shared with you all
the RTI that we have filed in the Osmania Hospital and its reply on the
Sanitation facilities. We have also filed RTI’s on food and water facilities
in the Hospital and have received the replies also. So we, after compiling
the Hospital replies with the reality in the Hospital, have decided to go
for the verification in the Hospital based on the replies the Hospital
authorities gave. I have sent a mail to this group also about the
verification meet which was held at prasad’s preview on 8th of this month.
Some of the people from have come for the verification namely,
1) Kutti Krishnan, Lead India
2) Satya narayan, TMAD
3) Ravi shankar, TMAD
4) Prasanthi, BosF coordinator
5) Srihari, AID
6) Harinath, TMAD
All of us have decided to go for the verification on
29th (Saturday) of this month and have obtained the permission from the
Osmania Hospital also. For the verification, we have split ourselves into
two groups namely Ground verification team and the Records verification
team. The tentative role of the each team would be as follows,
*Ground verification team: *Its job is to verify the information based on
physical presence. For example, in the Sanitation RTI, the hospital in
its reply stated the number of beds, toilets etc. in all the floors. So,
this team will have to check weather number given by the correct or not and
also to another question reply, the Hospital stated all the toilets are in
Hygienic and usable condition. So, this team will make a video documentation
on the toilets showing weather all the toilets are in hygienic and usable
condition. It will also interview the hospital staff, the general public and
the patients in the Hospital on various facilities provided by the Hospital.
*Records verification team: *As the name itself indicates, the role of this
team will be to verify all the records with the regard to the sanitation,
food and water facilities by the Hospital. I have listed all the records to
be verified in the attachments. A letter of request will be filed in the OGH
asking the Hospital authority to keep the records which are listed in the
letter to keep ready on the Saturday which will make the procedure of
records verification easy.
As you can see, the Ground verification needs some people
who can record and take the pictures of some of the situations of the
Hospital, for example the situation of dustbins, toilets, drinking water,
food etc. So, I request the people with handy cams to come and help in the
process of ground verification and also all the other people who interested
to join in the process are welcome. It’s up to the individuals to choose the
group they want to belong to.
Conclusion: Some of the situations in the Hospital may make you feel bad.
But, this will be an exposure for us all to understand the Health as a major
issue and the process of its degradation.
