Hi Prasanthi, We did briefly discuss about TMAD project as well . We are more than happy to raise funds for any project that we could help. I hope all the US members also agree with this.
In the meanwhile Prasanthi, please try to provide more specific details about this project. We shall start raising funds and work within some deadlines so that the money reaches you on time. I request all the US members to please let your opinions know !!! cheers Suresh I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still i can do something. I will not refuse to do something I can do .( Helen Keller ) ________________________________ From: Prasanthi Uppalapati <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Mon, October 19, 2009 3:52:43 PM Subject: Re: [tomakeadifference] Meeting minutes of the TMAD US members Hi Suresh/US team, Thank you for the update. Its a good decision to consider different projects and select one among them. But it would be too early to know or come up with any projects. Coming to TMAD, we are very keen on rehabilitation effort and want to do more by spending considerable time period. Say, for example, I want to be on field for 15 days and some of our India volunteers (from Hyd, Blr and Chennai) are interested to spend time during weekends. Ravi also wants to utilize his leaves for this task. To start with and to get an idea, already some of us visited two to three villages. We thought of giving relief material as a first step after our visits. Now that we are getting info. that more or less those are being provided by the govt. and also that the liquor sales are high where the relief material has been supplied in adequate, we are keen on giving water filter and solar lamp (which are of use all the time not just for post-disaster period). As you know about our estimate of 3 lakhs for the visit, we were expecting that we will be getting support from our US team for this project. Please update us on to what extent US team is willing to support our internal project. Even while executing our internal project, we should help in compiling the information, as active group of BosF. Lead India and RAYS groups can help us in the Education sector, Arogyabharathi, TSCS, and doctor friends like Sundar, Bala and Hemanth will help us in the Health sector. Telugu Foundation is interested to support Livelihood activities. So once we visit three to five villages, we can zero in on one particular village and strive consistently to bring the village back to normalcy and provide all the rehabilitation possible. I can only apply for leave after second week of November. So depending on the requirement then, I may get the leave. So tentatively I can plan for the last fortnight of November. I may not be so frequent in mails as I did earlier owing to the increased work, but will keep posting the updates. Request you all to keep the Indian team in loop and involve us in the decision making process. -- Thank you. with regards, PRASANTHI. http://groups. google.com/ group/birdsofsam efeathers ---- When you want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. In a gentle way you can shake the world.  The world may be big, but there are no small things. Everything matters.  Believe that you can and will make a difference. Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. To be the change you want to see in the world, you don't have to be loud. You don't have to be eloquent. You don't have to be elected. You don't even have to be particularly smart or well educated. You do, however, have to be committed. If you're clear on what you want to change and why you want to change it, the how will come. Consciously or unconsciously, every one of us does render some service or other. If we cultivate the habit of doing this service deliberately, our desire for service will steadily grow stronger and we will make not only our own happiness, but that of the world at large. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
