Friends, Greetings.
This is December, the time when most of us introspect the current year, evaluate our performance, relations and everything about us, where we stand with respect to our goals etc., I rather seriously thought about BosF and the direction that we are heading. Everyone asks me about the work that I have been doing so far like....What is the result? Where is the output? The answer is something like I am interested in uniting likeminded groups and bringing them on to a platform to share things. Yes. This is achieved. But what next? Is there any progress? What is it that we gained by sharing views on a platform? Nothing much. Whatever is the initial support that we expect to gain from this platform ... to help other groups by participating in their major events, is not at all visible. There have been many big events organized by different member groups and there is less than 5% participation from members of other groups. So how can we gauge the usefulness of a platform? Of course we crossed the LKG mark. But how many more years we will be in the same class? Tried different ways of engaging everyone to work together. Nothing worked. So if I have to question myself and analyze as a critic, the answer is: what all I have been doing so far is SENDING MAILS, TALKING OVER MOBILE and ATTENDING MEETINGS. Again I tried to convince myself rather console by reminding that we are not doing bad either..... we are still together. But there should be some measure of success. Key Attributes (couldn't think of jargon, writing bluntly) 1. Continuity - The platform should continue without my presence 2. Unity - There should be good unity among groups 3. Regularity - The meetings and trips that we planned should be regular So I decided this way: 1. I will consider myself to be like any member (rather than a coordinator or moderator) and will only send mails, if required or addressed to me. 2. I do not organize any meeting or trip but see if any other member (at least one person) comes forward to make things happen. This should not be under the aegis of any group but solely as BosF. 3. I will not attend any meetings (even BosF meetings too). This is not non-cooperation but not to put forward any of my ideas so that any other idea can be given priority by the group. Also to make sure that BosF is not Prasanthi alone and it is yours too. (In fact, honestly, I never thought BosF as mine. I always think and maintained this is/as the platform/group of every person who is a member and who reads mails.) The time limit is 3 months till March 31st. I will use this time to improve on all areas where I feel I am lacking and also to assess the strength of my beliefs and ideology. I will not be discouraged IF AT ALL my trust is proved otherwise. It would only be an eye-opener on whether an idea is ideal but not practical or the idea is practical too and some very ideal things also WILL happen. I commit myself to my words. I will attend any major event planned by any member group in BosF. I will attend any trip organized by members exclusively for BosF. Only thing is I do not want to take any initiative on behalf of BosF for three months. This is to test my work, which I think I did and also to test the strength of this platform.
