This is the case from Challapalli, Devarakota at a distance of 65 kms from Vijayawada on Bandar Road. Name of Husband: Srinivas, Son of Konakala Ramaiah Name of Wife: Rajyalakshmi Both are polio affected. Theirs is a love marriage and both the families deserted them. Husband studied 10th class and is earning livelihood by sewing, he is a tailor. Wife is a diploma holder in Lab Technology. She is pregnant with twins and is now 15 days past 9 months. At any time she will deliver. They approached govt. hospital in Ghantasalapalem. They referred to Machilipatnam as critical case. Doctor at Machilipatnam Govt. hospital told them that he will do the delivery but the twins should be kept in Incubator for 15 days and it would cost Rs. 2000 per day. The govt. hospital does not have the facility of incubators. They are in need of 30,000 rs. Neighbour: Donepudi Chinnakrishnarao PP Number: 08671223862. Our effort so far: 1. Spoke with Ms. Padmalatha, local Sakshi Journalist and she in turn spoke with the family. Hopefully they can publish about this case. 2. One activist from Chandragiri, Ms. Latha, called up and expressed her support to our forum. I referred this case to her. She said she will try her level best to help and find out if there are any friends in Vijayawada area to help. 3. I want to talk to Sri KVB Sastri and some other friends who belong to Vijayawada 4. Initially I wanted to refer to Dr. Giri of Dr. Raman Foundation as they have this Pregnant Women Welfare scheme - Amma Project. But this is for delivery. Not sure if this is part of the project, but I want to refer.
