Dear harinath, u r right n u r wrong..... This is indeed for road widening but what the protestors are asking for is to replant the trees in some other place... and not to stop road widening...
This road widening is taken up by GMR who has done similar thing for his airport(replant the trees). But here at NH9 road widening he is not considering replanting but simply cutting them off as its expensive to take the tree safely and replant it. This is what I have read recently...not sure whether its true or not.....
