Hi Prasanthi, *Mr. J.Haribabu- Final Year Physiotherapy Student - Kurnool* is suffering from a *BONE MARROW CANCER*. He was admitted in NIIMS earlier and presently he is under treatment at *MNJ Regional Cancer Centre, Redhills, Hyderabad.*Doctors advised him to undergo *BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATION*. His sister is the donor of their bone marrow for their loving brother. The estimated cost for the treatment was around *10 Lakhs*. Their family being a lower middle class, are pleading for help from all sides from relatives, friends, voluntary donors. If so, is it not covers under that? – They have White Ration card, but not Aarogya Sri card. Earlier (in Oct. 2008) they availed the facility till (Feb 2009) the completion of treatment. Why NIMS is not interested to do BMT? – As there is no facility for BMT under Aarogya Sri and they suggested for chemotherapy on our own expenses, Do the family have White Ration card? Yes What is the Present Stage of the Disease? Relapsed AML – 2 (re occurrence of acute myeloid leukemia) What is the treatment undergone by the patient earlier & where? Chemotherapy, 4 cycles Hidac treatment in NIMS Hospital, Hyd Chemotherapy, 1 cycle Hidac treatment in MNJ Cancer Hospital, Hyd In which hospital the patient is being treated now? And what is the Present treatment he is getting there? Who is the Concerened doctor diagnising the patient? At present we consulted to Dr. AVS Suresh, Hematologist, BMT Physician, Oncologist. The patient is now in MNJ Regional Cancer Centre, Hyderabad, under care of Dr. AVS Suresh. He prescribed – HLA matching test for 03 members inclusive of patient. It was done on 26-02-10, reports came today only (02-03-10). The cost of that is Rs. 41000/- As per the consultant, the patient will be in MNJ hospital only further 10 days. Later on he will be shifted to Private Hospital (likely – CARE or MEDWIN or YASHODA) depending upon the cost of hospitalization. What is the total estimated cost for the treatment? How much funds have been collected till date? Further requirement of funds? As per the consultant (oral) – The total estimated cost for BMT will be 10 – 12 Lakhs. And he promised that, he will be providing donors /sponsors for 7 Lakhs definitely.
