Hi All,
Go through the mail below, this is a company by some of my friends. It is
good to hear about their idea.
Can we help in anyway through our contact base in providing them the
feedback about the product for improvising and also spreading their reach?
BTW, they are based in Chennai and if needed I can coordinate with him for a
special demo to our members.
Best Regards
Chaitanya

Hi all!
I'm a 2003 alumnus and I run a company called Invention Labs, that's
incubated by IIT Madras. We released our first product this month. It is a
device that helps spastic kids communicate, and it is called AVAZ. Spastic
children have normal intelligence but severe impairment of muscle
coordination, so they cannot talk and they cannot perform fine actions with
their limbs. This means they can't communicate. AVAZ is a device that
converts their limited capacity for motion into speech.
Here is a short video we made about the device and with kids using it:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxPgauFcbcg
We got some great coverage in the press. The fine folks at the Hindu did two
articles about our product:
beta.thehindu.com/news/states/tamil-nadu/article113726.ece
beta.thehindu.com/sci-tech/technology/article201683.ece
The AVAZ website is at http://avaz.inventionlabs.in
We are trying to get this device into a number of special schools around
India through corporate sponsorships. We are also trying to raise money for
further development of this and allied devices. And we are looking for
people with some background in disability to volunteer to help us with
deploying and improving AVAZ.
If you can help, or know someone who can help, please let me know.
Best,
