Hi Friends, This is the update of last week-end activity.
*Saturday (04-09-2010):* Geetika and Sameera went to Mehdipatnam School around 9.30 am and spend with children till 12 pm. I have reached school around 12pm. And met HM Naresh Garu and enquired about shortage of text books, and available extra books. >From there myself and Geetika went to Lungar House for survey. Schools Visited: 1. Ambedkar Patasala (Primary and High school), Prasanth Nagar, Lungar house 2. G.G.P.S. Androon Karwan School (Primary School), Ambedkar Nagar, Sangam, Lungar house. But in both the schools I didn’t get any information for Textbooks shortage. Respective school authority is saying that, they have got enough textbooks from government and they don’t have any shortage of textbooks. Then I have called to the Sakshi paper reporter and asked the same. He is saying that teachers and school authority is giving wrong information and we need to enquire children regarding text books. I request Satya Krishna to get the correct information from reporter. In G.G.P.S. Androon Karwan School, they have requested to provide notebooks for children. *Sunday (05-09-2010):* Based on the mail sent (on 02-09-2010) by Lakshmi Garu with the subject of *“Prashanth's efforts in making "Our Home" for children affected with HIV in Hyderabad... Lets appreciate and support”, *Myself and one of my colleagues went to *Future foundation (Our Home)* at Malkajgiri. Mr. Prasanth is taking care of 25 children. Out of 25 some are orphans, some are semi orphans, and 5 children are HIV affected children. All the children are between 4 to 15 Yrs. He doesn’t get any funds from any organizations. He is earning some money through servicing computer problems and some photo editing. When I enquired about monthly expenditures for running the home, it is around 30,000 Rs including house rent, school fees, medicines, groceries etc. I felt it would be helpful to him, if we can help those children. *Please Share your views, in which ways we can help those children.* -- *Regards,* *Shilpa Pagadala,* ** *If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one. ~Mother Teresa*
