Caching a request and re-using it later violates Section 4.10 of the 2.3 spec,
which says that a particular request object is valid only with the scope of a
servlet's service() method (if you're not using filters) or doFilter() method
(if you are).  The fact that it works on a particular container is not relevant
-- it is guaranteed to cause you grief on any container that recycles request
instances (as Tomcat does).
