Classloader problems with Xerces

------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-01-17 18:19 -------
Well, let try to clarify a little bit more. From the Servlet specs:

SRV.9.7.2 Web Application Classloader
The classloader that a container uses to load a servlet in a WAR must allow the
developer to load any resources contained in library JARs within the WAR
following normal J2SE semantics using getResource. It must not allow the WAR to
override J2SE or Java servlet API classes. It is further recommended that the
loader not allow servlets in the WAR access to the web containers
implementation classes.

Xerces package contains file that are included with J2SE (org.w3c.*) and also
contain JAXP interface.

Thats's why we are bloking the loading of Xerces localed under /lib.

Hope that clarify better than the first message :-)
