http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=21214 Start menu items don't set endorsed dir Summary: Start menu items don't set endorsed dir Product: Tomcat 4 Version: 4.1.24 Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: Other Component: Unknown AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] The install jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24-LE-jdk14.exe places the items "Start Tomcat" and "Stop Tomcat" into the windows start menu. These items *DON'T* refer to the startup.bat and shutdown.bat scripts, so don't set the java.libs.endorsed directory. This leads to some problems because all the documentation states that common/endorsed is the location to place jars which need to be endorsed. The workaround is to set JAVA_HOME and CATALINA_HOME environment variables, and then change the shortcuts to point to startup.bat and shutdown.bat. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
