No, I don't have tomcat.jar in common/lib... It's weird because in docs they refer to that... Maybe a 4.1.27 was a bad build? But then I would assume a standalone tomcat (without IIS) wouldn't be working properly and it works just fine.

The log you sent on Friday indicated a socket connect problem
Usually socket connect problems happen when you do not have you connector
(such as coyote connector in server.xml)

Concerning this problem
is tomcat.jar in %CATALINA_HOME%\common\lib
or %TOMCAT_HOME%\common\lib before you start TOMCAT?
