After logging in I get a HTTP Status 400 - Invalid direct reference to form login page. It appears that the requestURI is null when it comes to org.jboss.web.tomcat.tc4.authenticator.FormAuthenticator Could you update the FormAuthenticator to look up the j_uri from the request parameter when the saveRequestURI is null?
