look at $TOMCAT_HOME/bin/tomcat.sh (or tomcat.bat), there you can add JVM
parameters.
bye.

Subject: setting JVM parameters in Tomcat 3.1 + Cocoon 1.8

Hi there,

would anybody know how to set the following
parameters:

-Xms<size> set initial Java heap size
-Xmx<size> set maximum Java heap size

I am running out of memory (even though my server has
1GB RAM)

Also, has anybody got an example (XML and/or Servlet)
which is dinamicaly obtaining the runtime parameters
of the environment (version of the Servlet engine,
Cocoon, free mamory, CPU load, etc.)

TIA
