Tomcat reliability

We are considering tomcat for a project and were wondering how
reliable/stable it is (uptime between hangs etc)?  Anyone using tomcat in a
production environment or can point me to sites that are using it?

We have only been playing with it and have not had it running for any
length of time.  Any comments about maturity of the code base etc. would be
greatly appreciated.
