Guess I'm exactly one step ahead of you in this process. I've also been
setting up tomcat and ssl. You first must copy the jars in
jsse1.0.2/lib into JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext. After that you should be able
to compile SSLSocketFactory just fine.
